Padi Courses for 2007:
Night Diver Course
this 2-Night 4 dive course will prepare you with skills, knowledge, and techinques needed to safely participate in night-diving activities.
Course Overview
The purpose of the PADI Night Diver specialty course is to familiarize
divers with the skills, knowledge, planning, organization, procedures,
techniques, problems, hazards and enjoyment of diving at night (For
the purpose of training, night is considered any time between sunset and
sunrise). The Night Diver specialty course is intended to serve as a safe
and supervised introduction to night diving. Training should emphasize
fun and safety. The goals of PADI Night Diver training are:
A. To develop the students practical knowledge of night diving.
B. To enable the student to organize and safely conduct night
dives.
Course Requirements
A. Prerequisite certification: PADI Open Water Diver, Junior
Open Water Diver or have a qualifying certification from
another training organization. The instructor is to ensure that
the individual can perform the skills required of a PADI Open
Water Diver.
B. Minimum age requirement: 12 years.
C. Student to instructor ratio: 8:1. If the first night training dive
is the students first experience of night diving, then the
student is to be accompanied by the course instructor or a
certified assistant.
D. The Night Dive from the PADI Adventures in Diving program may
be counted toward the certification requirements for this specialty
at the discretion of the instructor conducting the specialty course.
E. Confined water training may be added at the discretion of the
instructor conducting the specialty course. As a preassessment
before the course begins, a confined water session may include a
scuba skills review. The PADI Skill Evaluation or Scuba Review
program is an excellent way to accomplish this review.
F. Dive data.
1. Three open water training dives. No more than three
dives per day.
2. Dives are to be conducted at night, between sunset and
sunrise.
3. Maximum dive depth will not exceed 30 metres/100
