This program is a unique, completely free benefit offered to all entry-level divers. When you begin your journey toward scuba certification with us, you are eligible to register as a student member. Who is the Divers Alert Network?
Divers Alert Network (DAN) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit medical and research organization associated with the Duke University Medical Center. Since its founding in 1980, DAN has served as the ultimate lifeline for the scuba industry. They operate the world's only 24-hour diving emergency hotline, providing lifesaving advice to injured divers and medical professionals globally.
Beyond emergency services, DAN conducts vital medical research and develops educational programs that set the standard for dive safety. They are supported by the largest association of recreational divers in the world. While regular members enjoy benefits like emergency medical evacuation and subscriptions to Alert Diver magazine, the Student Membership Program is specifically designed to bridge the gap for beginners.

What Your Student Membership Includes
The DAN Student Membership provides several valuable benefits at no cost to the student. The cornerstone of the program is the $20,000 recompression treatment insurance. In the extremely rare event of a pressure-related injury during training, this coverage helps manage the costs of hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
In addition to financial coverage, student members receive:
